New Journal of Ubuntu looking for Editorial and Advisory Boards members and reviewers

Journals start with an idea, and they start small. The Journal of Ubuntu will start in 2024 to provide a platform for the publishing of all aspects and levels of Ubuntu philosophy. The journal is published by the Africa Social Work and Development Network (ASWDNet). All levels of Ubuntu will be covered as follows:

1. Family and individual (ukama)
2. Community (ujamaa)
3. Society (ujamii)
4. Environment (imvelo)
5. Spiritual (uroho)

Heri za Kwanzaa, Happy Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated by millions throughout the world African community. The week starts on 26 Dec  and ends on 1 January 2024. It is a celebration of family, community, culture and heritage. Kwanzaa is part of pan-Africanism and the decolonization project, particularly decolonizing culture, religion and the mind. Kwanzaa provides an alternative to dominating western, eastern and middle-eastern holidays, and allows people to look more critically at holidays that they celebrate that are foreign to them. Non-African holidays are founded on non-African ideologies, religious stories and symbols. Most of them, including religious holidays, celebrate whiteness and were part of the colonial project, and are today part of the neo-colonial project. Every celebration of non-African religions is a celebration and promotion of foreign values, most of those values have been internationalized through colonisation and assumed to be universal and global yet every people have their own values. The celebration of first rains, first crops or fruits and the harvest is cultural to Africa and could be a starting point to recreate African celebrations, with the hope of having a unifying celebration on the continent and its diaspora.
