IFSW Africa Region Conference, November 22-24 2023

Theme: Emerging Social Problems in Africa: The Response of Social Work Practice

International Federation of Social Workers Africa Region is a membership, not for profit making organisation for Social Work professional associations in Africa. IFSW Africa holds Social Work conferences once every two years. Conferences have been held over the years with the last one of 2021 hosted by Rwanda National Organisation of Social Workers with the theme: "Towards Ubuntu and Sustainable Development: Social Work position in achieving SDGs".

Nigeria hosts the 2023 International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Africa Region Conference from November 22 to 24, 2023, at the University of Lagos, Lagos State.

Hongera, congratulations Nigeria for ratifying the AU Protocol on Disability in October 2023

Thank you Seyi Sanjo-Bankole for notifying Owia Bulletin that Nigeria President Bola Tinubu signed the Instrument of Ratification of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Africa in October 2023. This is an important step and we hope other countries follow Nigeria's example.
