AAEM
Refers to American, Arabian, Asian, European and Mixed race (AAAEM) groups. In Africa they are collectively known as mlungu, malungu, mulungu, mhlungu, umhlungu, imuzungu, omusongo, mũthũngũ, buzungu, mulungu, msungu and murungu. Plural is wazungu, varungu, vozongo, abelungu or bazungu. The social work services, funding and interventions for these groups have traditionally been different from the Black African population and Black social workers working with them need to understand their histories of colonisation but also their social stratification.
