Melanesia
Melanesia is a region in the pacific area with these Island countries:
- Fiji
- Papua New Guinea
- New Caledonia, still colonised by France
- Vanuatu
- Solomon Islands
- West Papua, Maluku, and other areas still colonised by Indonesia
- Torres Strait islands, used to be part of Papua and still colonised by Queensland/Australia
- Indigenous Black people of Australia are closely related to Melanesians and usually classified as one by other Black people and themselves
Indigenous people of Melanesia are Black. Melas means Black while nesoi means island in Greek.
