Buluggin ibn Ziri
Buluggin ibn Ziri founded the city of Algiers in the 10th century and was the first ruler of the
Zirid dynasty in North Africa. As a governor under the Fatimid Caliphate, he helped spread
Islam and built administrative structures. His leadership helped consolidate power in the
central Maghreb. His descendants maintained influence for several generations.
