Dedan Kimathi
Dedan Kimathi was a leader of the Mau Mau rebellion against British colonial rule in Kenya.
He was captured and executed in 1957, but his role in the independence movement remains
significant. Kimathi is celebrated for his bravery and organisational skill. His legacy has
grown in postcolonial Kenya as a symbol of freedom.
