Dihya (Kahina)
Dihya, also known as the Kahina, was a Berber queen and military leader who resisted the
Arab invasion of North Africa in the 7th century. She united various Berber tribes and fought
to protect their sovereignty and traditions. Though eventually defeated, she delayed Arab
expansion for years. She is remembered as a symbol of indigenous resistance.
