Fela Kuti

Fela Kuti was a Nigerian musician who used Afrobeat as a platform for political expression.
He openly criticised military regimes, corruption, and social injustice. His compound, the
Kalakuta Republic, was often raided, and he was imprisoned multiple times. Fela’s music and
activism made him a cultural icon across Africa and beyond.
