Nyatsimba Mutota

Nyatsimba Mutota was the founder of the Mutapa State in the 15th century, following the
decline of Great Zimbabwe. He expanded control over trade routes and regional resources.
His state became known for wealth generated from gold and ivory. Mutota’s descendants
continued to rule for generations.
