Samori Touré
Samori Touré resisted French colonial expansion in West Africa during the late 19th century.
He established the Wassoulou Empire, stretching across parts of present-day Guinea and
Mali. Known for his disciplined army and strategic diplomacy, he was eventually captured
and exiled. He remains a symbol of African resistance to European domination.
