Sobhuza II
Sobhuza II was King of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and reigned from 1921 to 1982. He
guided the country through independence and preserved traditional leadership. Sobhuza
abolished the constitution in favour of monarchy. He remains a central figure in Eswatini’s
modern history.
