Usman dan Fodio
Usman dan Fodio was a Fulani scholar who launched a religious movement in northern
Nigeria in the early 1800s. He founded the Sokoto Caliphate, which promoted Islamic
education, social justice, and governance. His leadership brought significant reform in the
region. His descendants continued to lead and influence Islamic societies in West Africa.
