Promoting Sustainable Development: CJCU’s IPSD Program Empowers African Students
By Yuvan Sankar
I’m Yuvan Sankar, a creative and editorial board member of the Owia Bulletin at the Africa Social Work and Development Network.
I recently had the opportunity to intern at Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU). During my time there, I met numerous students from various African countries, including Tanzania, Burundi, and Central Africa. Engaging with these students provided valuable insights into the lifestyle and education in Taiwan, as well as the benefits of the International Program for Sustainable Development (IPSD).
The students shared their positive experiences and highlighted the significant support provided by CJCU, including scholarships specifically for African students. This financial aid is a testament to the university’s dedication to fostering global education and sustainable development. The enthusiasm and proactive attitude of these students towards sustainable development were truly inspiring.
Moreover, the IPSD program has proven to be a vital platform for these students to contribute to Africa’s development. They have been enlightened and guided through various projects aimed at creating sustainable solutions for their home countries. The knowledge and skills gained from this program are not only beneficial to the students but also hold the potential to drive meaningful change in their communities.
In conclusion, the IPSD program at Chang Jung Christian University, in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute, represents a significant step towards empowering young individuals to address the challenges of sustainable development. The university’s efforts in providing scholarships and a comprehensive educational framework are commendable. It is heartening to witness the students’ dedication to making a positive impact, and their work promises to pave the way for a more sustainable and prosperous future for Africa and beyond.
Great work my brother Yuvan!
